data protection

The protection of your personal data is particularly important to us. We therefore process your data exclusively on the basis of the legal provisions (GDPR, TKG 2003). In this data protection information we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing on our website. Like almost all service providers, we use cookies, web beacons or similar processes when you visit our websites or use our offerings.

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device by your browser and which may enable your computer or device to be recognized across different websites. The cookies do not contain any personal data. Some of the cookies we use are deleted after the end of the browser session, i.e. after closing your browser (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your device and enable us or our partner companies to recognize your browser on your next visit (persistent cookies).

You can prevent the use of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. However, it is possible that certain areas of the websites or offers may not function as intended. Web beacons are small graphic files (“pixels”) that may be embedded in our website and that can be used to record user behavior. Similar processes include, for example, Flash cookies, HTML5 cookies or other local (browser or device) storage processes in which - comparable to cookies - data can be stored in your browser or device in order to use your browser or device next visit or during a session.

The use of cookies and similar processes enables us to collect information about users in order to make it easier and more comfortable for them to use the websites or to enable certain offers. This website integrates a “YouTube plugin” into its information offering. This YouTube software uses cookies to collect data and evaluate statistical data. YouTube uses cookies to, among other things, collect reliable video statistics, prevent fraud and improve user-friendliness. Through the YouTube cookies, the operator of the website receives statistical values for accessing individual videos embedded in the website without reference to the respective user.

The legal basis for the use of YouTube plugins is our legitimate interest in an interesting and needs-based design of our website in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1f GDPR. We use embedded YouTube videos in enhanced privacy mode. This means that no data about you as a user is transferred to YouTube if you do not play the videos. Only when you play the videos will the following data be transferred. We have no influence on this data transfer. By playing the video, YouTube receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding subpage of our website. In addition, the data mentioned above under “Server log files” is transmitted. This occurs regardless of whether YouTube provides a user account through which you are logged in or whether there is no user account.

If you are logged in to Google, your data will be assigned directly to your account. If you do not want it to be associated with your YouTube profile, you must log out before activating the button. YouTube saves your data as usage profiles and uses them for advertising, market research and/or needs-based design of its website. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to provide tailored advertising and to inform other users about your activities on our website.

Through the plugins we offer you the opportunity to interact with social networks and other users so that we can improve our offering and make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for the use of the plugins is Art. 6 Para. 1f GDPR.

We use the so-called two-click solution. This means that when you visit our site, no personal data will initially be passed on to the plugin providers. You can recognize the provider of the plugin by the marking on the box using its first letter or the logo. We give you the opportunity to communicate directly with the provider of the plugin using the button. Only if you click on the marked field and thereby activate it will the plugin provider receive the information that you have accessed the corresponding website of our online offering. In addition, the log data mentioned above in this declaration will be transmitted. These are, for example:

– Date and time the website was accessed or the link was activated,

The servers of the social media services are located in the USA and other countries outside the European Union. The data can therefore also be processed by the provider of the social media service in countries outside the European Union. Please note that companies in these countries are subject to data protection laws that generally do not protect personal data to the same extent as those in member states of the European Union.

Conversion tracking

We use the services of external advertising partners to draw attention to our offers with the help of advertising materials on external websites. We also use marketing tools to determine how successful the individual advertising measures are (“conversion tracking”).
Our interest is to show you advertising that is of interest to you, to make our website more interesting for you and to achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs. The legal basis is Article 6 Paragraph 1f GDPR.
For this purpose, our advertising partners set cookies and web beacons (see above) through which certain parameters can be measured to measure success, such as display of advertisements or clicks by users. These cookies are not intended to identify you personally. As long as the cookie is valid, the advertising partner can recognize that you have clicked on an ad and reached a specific target page (e.g. form entry, confirmation page, newsletter registration). The cookie is used by the advertising partner to create conversion statistics. These statistics record the number of users who clicked on one of our advertisements. It also counts how many users reached a target page that was provided with a “conversion tag” (remarketing tag, see above). However, the statistics do not contain any data that can be used to identify you.

We ourselves do not collect or process any personal data in the advertising measures mentioned. We only receive statistical evaluations from our advertising partners. Based on these evaluations, we can identify which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of advertising materials; in particular, we cannot identify users based on this information. Due to the conversion tracking tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with the advertising partner's server. We have no influence on the extent and further use of the data collected through the use of this tool by advertising partners. By integrating the marketing tools, the advertising partner receives the information that you have accessed the relevant part of our website or clicked on one of our advertisements. If you are registered with our advertising partner (e.g. Facebook or Google), the advertising partner can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered or have not logged in, there is a possibility that the provider will find out and store your IP address.

We use conversion tracking from the following advertising partners:

Google Adwords
Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountainview, California 94043, USA
Further information about data protection at Google can be found here: http://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy and https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html. Google has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework. You can prevent conversion tracking by Google Adwords by deactivating cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain “www.googleadservices.com”, https://www.google.de/settings /ads, whereby these settings will be deleted when you delete your cookies, or permanently deactivated in your Firefox, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome browsers under the link http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin.

Facebook
Facebook Inc., 1601 S California Ave, Palo Alto, California 94304, USA Further information about data protection on Facebook can be found here: http://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/. If you do not want Facebook to assign the collected information to your Facebook account, you can turn this off here: https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads
To do this you must be logged in to Facebook. Facebook has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework

We set a persistent cookie so that your opt-out can be recognized and taken into account on subsequent visits to our website. Please note that it must be reset after deleting all cookies. Opt-out cookies prevent your data from being collected in the future when you visit this website with a specific device or browser. However, in order to prevent collection on different devices, the opt-out must be carried out on all devices/browsers used.

Use of Google Remarketing

Our websites use so-called “retargeting tags” to place interest-based advertising on third-party websites. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in advertising measures in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1f GDPR.
A retargeting tag is a JavaScript element that is placed in the source code of the website. If a user visits a page on such a website that contains a retargeting tag, an online advertising provider (“retargeting provider”, e.g. Google, Facebook) places a cookie on that user’s computer and assigns it to corresponding retargeting target group lists added. The respective retargeting providers use the cookie to collect interest data (e.g. the pages visited on our website or search queries) using pseudonyms. The retargeting providers then use this information to show you interest-based advertising. No directly personal data is stored and no usage profiles are combined with personal data about you. However, the retargeting provider may be able to identify you and assign your usage behavior on our website to you, especially if you are a registered user of the retargeting provider (e.g. have a Google or Facebook account).

We use the following retargeting providers:

Facebook retargeting
Facebook Inc., 1601 S California Ave, Palo Alto, California 94304, USA Your IP address and the pages you view on the GoEuro website are transmitted to Facebook. You can find more information about data processing by Facebook and your rights and options for protecting your personal data in Facebook's data protection declaration at: http://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/
If you do not want Facebook to assign the collected information to your Facebook account, you can turn off the retargeting functions here:
https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads
To do this you must be logged in to Facebook.
Facebook has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework
Google Remarketing (DoubleClick)
Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountainview, California 94043, USA. Users of this website can opt out of Google's use of cookies and retargeting by visiting “Google Ad Preferences” (http://www.google.com/ads/preferences/). We set a persistent cookie so that your opt-out can be recognized and taken into account on subsequent visits to our website. Please note that it must be reset after deleting all cookies. Opt-out cookies prevent the future collection of your data when you visit this website with a specific device or browser. However, in order to prevent collection on different devices, the opt-out must be carried out on all devices/browsers used.

You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles; to exercise this you must contact YouTube. Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and its processing
